April is full of innovation events happening at Johns Hopkins University. With five headlining events and a series of workshops and panels, Innovation Month has something for every #HopkinsEntrepreneur.

 

Whether you are a startup veteran or a student just starting out, Innovation Month will bring you entertainment, opportunities, and inspiration.

A Month of Inspiration

Social Entrepreneur

Panel

Interested in getting involved in Social Entrepreneurship? With a theme of Bringing Baltimore Together, this panel showcases different ways in which Baltimore entrepreneurs have created sustainable organizations with real social impact. Panelists include Brittany Young, founder of B360; JJ Reidy, founder of Urban Pastoral, and Kate Khatib, founder of Red Emma's.

Hatch Innovation Conference

The Hatch Innovation Conference is the largest celebration of entrepreneurship at the Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus! Featuring Max Dorwin, the CMO of Boxed, a workshop by Nick Gilson of Gilson Snowboards, and a Startup Showcase featuring over 20 Hopkins & Baltimore Startups, attendees get the chance to network with prominent entrepreneurs & investors, meet the ventures being built at Hopkins & in Baltimore, and enjoy food, drink, & entertainment. Hatch is free and open to the public.

I Want to Start a Startup - Now what?

Have an idea for a startup, but not sure what to do next? Join TCO Labs and Hopkins alum Noah Presler, founder of Semester.ly, for this workshop that guides you through the process for launching a venture at Hopkins, tells you the ins-and-outs of being a student entrepreneur, and teaches you how to continue with your idea after graduation.

CBID Healthcare Design Competition 

Join CBID and Boston Scientific for the final rounds of the annual Johns Hopkins Healthcare Design Competition! Medical innovation teams from top universities around the world will present their devices in an attempt to win cash prizes, while attendees enjoy food, networking, and the chance to vote on the People's Favorite Award.

JHU Business Plan Competition 

Join the Center for Leadership Education for the final round of the Johns Hopkins Business Plan Competition! Support Hopkins student entrepreneurs as they compete for cash prizes up to $10,000 in four tracks: Mobile Applications, Medical Technology & Life Sciences, Social Enterprise, and General Business. Semi-Finals 9:30am-12pm, Final-Round 1:30pm-4pm.

DREAMS: Undergraduate Research Day

 

DREAMS is Johns Hopkins' annual celebration of undergraduate research, scholarly pursuits, and creative projects of all forms. Undergraduate students from all departments present their work in a poster and live presentation format to Hopkins students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

TCO Labs, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on building a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem at the Johns Hopkins Homewood campus and getting students involved in Baltimore’s innovation community.

The Center for Leadership Education

The Center for Leadership Education, under the Whiting School of Engineering, houses six academic programs and a variety of experiential programs in a student-centered environment.

Hopkins Office of Undergraduate Research

The Hopkins Office for Undergraduate Research helps students get involved in academic research and creative projects at Johns Hopkins University by providing funding and support for undergraduate research. 

Center for Bioengineering Innovation and Design 

The mission of the Center for Bioengineering Innovation and Design (CBID) is to create and develop solutions for major challenges to human health. CBID is a joint effort of the Whiting School of Engineering and the School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. 

Johns Hopkins Career Center

The JHU Career Center empowers students and recent alumni to discover career fulfillment through exploration of their knowledge, skills, values and opportunities, and facilitates connections for professional relationship development among students, alumni, and employers.

Alumni Student Ambassadors 

The Alumni Student Ambassadors was established in 2007 to strengthen the relationship between current students and alumni of Johns Hopkins University. Ambassadors serve as the student voice of the University to a variety of external and internal constituents.

Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity

Alpha Kappa Psi is the professional co-ed business fraternity on campus. As the premier developer of principled business leaders, AKPsi prepares students for careers in finance, consulting, marketing, and entrepreneurship. 

A-Level Capital 

A-Level Capital is a student-run venture capital firm at the Johns Hopkins University. They invest in companies founded by students, alumni, and other affiliates of Johns Hopkins. On campus, they support entrepreneurship and spread awareness about venture capital.
